Cal Davis
Cal Davis has always believed that reading should be fun. As a teenager, he loved creating his own stories but found that school exams often took the joy out of the page. He carried that core belief through a life rich with experience: from overseas tours in the Air Force and teaching middle school to owning his own business and a nearly 30-year career in the housing industry.
Now, Cal writes for the kids and teens of today, guided by his faith and a mission to tell stories that are both fun and purposeful. His passion is deeply personal. A graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature, he writes picture books that help children embrace their individuality. After his grandson was diagnosed with autism, Cal's research and love led to the creation of the heartfelt book, Through Scotty’s Eyes.
For older readers, his award-winning Journeys of Braven series and the Brothers of Survival novellas are thrilling adventures that weave action and mystery with strength, leadership, and character-building.

Author/Illlustrator
Rwilliam Briggs
Ronnie Briggs, writing under the pen name Rwilliam Briggs, was born in the piney woods of Northeast Texas, where the lessons of his father shaped him profoundly. Growing up with a dad who encouraged his curiosity, taught him music, and nurtured his hands-on skills, Ronnie developed a love for guitar, piano, and craftsmanship—a love he now shares with his son, Bobo.
After graduating in 1991, Ronnie traveled the world, exploring the far corners of the Earth, yet always felt the pull of home. In 2009, he returned to Northeast Texas, purchasing the property he had long dreamed of owning. There, he began chronicling his adventures and reflections in the Southern Gothic Chronicles of Honeygrove, the LA Gothic Chronicles, and numerous other works, creating a legacy meant to inspire and empower his son.
Ronnie is the vocalist and guitarist for the band Southpaw Dogden and a skilled craftsman. He owns over 100 guitars, five or six of which he built from scratch, and finds great joy in curating and building instruments. He is also a Redline Hot Wheels restoration expert, having spent many years learning the craft under the mentorship of highly respected collectors, and he maintains a collection of over a thousand Hot Wheels, most of them customized by his own hand. In addition, he collaborates with his mother, Sue Karr Briggs, as the illustrator for her children’s books, including chronicles of the ranch where she grew up with her father.
Above all, Ronnie’s greatest joy is being a father—honoring the lessons of his own upbringing by nurturing, teaching, and sharing life’s skills and passions with his son, carrying forward a legacy of love, curiosity, and craftsmanship.
